The future choreographer was born on April 17, 1940, in the city of Serpukhov in the Moscow Region. He spent his childhood in the Donbas, where his family faced extremely difficult times following his father’s early death. It was precisely these life challenges that shaped the artist’s perseverance, diligence, and iron will. Vladimir graduated from a vocational school with a specialty in welding, worked at a factory, and was actively involved in sports.
His love for dance began at the age of 21, when Glushenkov joined an amateur ensemble. Thanks to his exceptional diligence and natural talent, he soon became the ensemble’s soloist. In 1962, the promising performer was invited to join the “Podolyanka” Song and Dance Ensemble of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Philharmonic (now the “Cossacks of Podillia” Academic Song and Dance Ensemble), with which he spent the rest of his creative life.
Seeking professional growth, in 1970 Volodymyr Mykolayovych enrolled at the Kyiv State Institute of Culture, where he studied under leading Ukrainian choreographers. Even while still a student, his first student productions earned the highest marks from his instructors. After graduating from the institute in 1974, he returned to his native “Podolyanka” as a full-fledged ballet master and choreographer.
